Elekta is a human care company focused on the development of innovations and clinical solutions for the treatment of cancer and brain disorders. Elekta Healthcare Analytics is a Knowledge Management answer that will allow doctors to interconnect the volume of data managed within health care enterprises. It includes analytical tools aimed at:

  • Decreasing costs, reducing inadequacies and improving quality;
  • Managing and assessing resource utilization;
  • Systematizing care throughout large and small networks, monitoring patterns of care and operational developments;
  • Improving the satisfaction of patients, tailoring outreach and managing clinical study groups and other populations.

“Oncology centers generate enormous volumes of data. By achieving a better understanding of these data, providers will be better equipped to manage increasing numbers of patients,” said Todd Powell, Executive Vice President, Elekta Software in a press release. “And this information will be crucial to tailoring care to each patient, fine-tuning therapy strategies and practice quality, and improving performance. The real-time dashboards in Healthcare Analytics will help providers to make confident, evidence-based decisions, using the insights these data offer.”

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center was one of the first users of Elekta Healthcare Analytics and is also a user of MOSAIQ® Oncology Information System, as a solution for their radiation oncology practices. “MD Anderson annually treats thousands of patients with radiation therapy, so it’s important that we use a system that enables us to not only capture these critical patient data, but also to leverage that information to implement ongoing improvements in patient care,” said Robin Famiglietti, MBA, PhD, FACHE, Executive Director and Division Administrator, Radiation Oncology in the press release. “Elekta Healthcare Analytics provides us with a tool to qualify and quantify how we’re doing, and how we can better serve our patients’ needs moving forward.”

The system suite of cloud-based business and clinical applications supports data reporting visualization, management, and analysis, all key to enable the delivery of Information-guided care™.
